Question 1: Why did you start this Book Blog?
I started this book blog because I've been wanting to express my thoughts about books that I've read in the past as well as just share the love I have for reading with everyone who decides to view my posts! I've been able to read more because of quarantine and it led me to make a podcast and it's on spotify the name of it is Yvette Grows Up. <-- That is a link to my podcast, in it I've just shared my journey with mental health related topics and I sort of started talking about my interests in books and I like the approach of annotating and dissecting them and trying to apply real life methods to a piece of work, it's been really fun so far so I just wanted to make a blog to also highlight that.
Question 2 : What are some fun and unique things you can bring to Book Blogging?
I think my previous answer sort of covers some of that. I want to bring a new approach to what I view reading to be, many people love to read and may not try to apply it as though it's non-fiction, but if i'm reading a fiction book I just want to have the ability to play with the meaning of it and find similarities and relatability between life imitating art and vice versa.
Question 3 : What are you most excited for about this new blog?
I'm excited to see my overall progress with it, I want to see how many books I read. I want to see the effort I make with the posts because I've sort of been in a writing slump and this motivation is really helping me to at least express myself even if it's in a different form. I'm in my last semester of undergrad so although I'm barely starting this blog I may get a bit busy to even post often because I probably won't be reading as much but honestly I don't want the pressure of having to read just to make this content. This is for me to have fun with and that means I shouldn't have to pressure myself to do something when I can't.
Question 4 : Why do you love reading?
What's not to love about reading? I love the imagination aspect when it comes to reading a story unfold before you. Not only are you imagining the characters without an actual visual behind it, but you're imagining the whole world they see, the perspectives they have, the environment in which they live in. To imagine that in your head is a beauty! I love reading for the same reason people love just about anything they do, a form of it is escapism and with reading I find myself escaping into completely different worlds each time.
Question 5 : What book or series got you into reading?
I have a pretty shitty memory when it comes to my childhood for various reasons but I just know that I loved reading ever since I was able to read. I loved going to the library in elementary school and picking up the books we would have to read during our class time, the touch, the smell, the way it made me feel were all reasons I loved reading. So it's hard for me to remember what book really got me into reading but I could definitely say a series that intrigued me to just read more and more would have to be scary stories to tell in the dark! Omg what a masterpiece honestly, like as a kid I loved it, I loved anything creepy anything chilly, I love horror and scary movies but this series was unlike any other. I think it transcends its time, if I had a copy of the book I'm sure it would still creep me out today. I haven't seen the movie yet! But I would love to, I love the use of actual props and makeup instead of cgi.

I specifically remember this cover and this book... man like this would definitely give little kids nightmares.
Question 6 : What questions would you ask your favorite Booktubers?
I edited this question because I honestly haven't checked out a lot of book blogs but I love booktube and have been watching and catching up with my faves. I guess I would just ask them if they could only read one book for the rest of their lives, what would it be? I know that's such a shitty question, cause like why torture someone with that? It's like asking what's your favorite movie... it's so hard to even choose or decide, but I'm just curious to know what they would say.
